The Manager, Health Economics and Market Access will be responsible for the development of all reimbursement submissions for the Common Drug Review and formulary submissions to public and private payors for specified products as assigned.

Responsibilities

As Manager of Health Economics you will be responsible for the development, interpretation and utilization of health economic (HE) and outcomes related studies; the development of provincial/federal and private payor formulary submissions as well as submissions to the Common Drug Review; participate in the development of innovative reimbursement strategies. The overall objective for all of these activities is to rapidly secure optimal levels of reimbursement for assigned products (currently marketed and future pipeline).

* Responsible for the development of complete reimbursement submissions to CDR, Public and Private Payors with the goal of securing optimal levels of reimbursement for pipeline and existing products
* Monitor and report to Senior Management on changes in the Canadian reimbursement market and how it could impact the business
* Represent the HEOR perspectives and overall Market Access position on assigned internal core teams and international product teams

Qualifications

* Must possess a graduate degree in Health Economics and Outcomes Research
* Experience in the therapeutic areas of Oncology and Diabetes would be a tremendous asset
* At least four years of practical HE experience directly developing  high quality CDR,  Provincial and Private payor submissions
* Must possess a strong ability to perform, interpret and critically assess health/pharmaco-economic and budget impact analyses
* An ability to review and critique medical and evidence-based outcomes literature
* A through understanding of the reimbursement environment in Canada and how the company should adapt to these changes
* Must be a positive minded, creative thinking person that can work well on cross functional teams (including interacting with Boehringer Ingelheim Global Market Access, Medical and Clinical personnel)
* Good understanding of the PMPRB rules and regulations
* Good oral and written communications skills
