As a research and innovation-driven pharmaceutical group of companies, Boehringer Ingelheim is committed to the goal of discovering and developing products which represent high therapeutic value for patients, physicians and health care providers.
For a global player in the pharmaceutical industry it is no longer sufficient to develop drugs that simply match products already on the market. Boehringer Ingelheim dedicates annually almost one fifth of net sales in its largest business segment, Prescription Medicines, to first-class research and development so that we can find new and better ways to improve health.
Our Global Research & Development Network
Research & Development at Boehringer Ingelheim is carried out at four research and development centres around the world, and three support centres in Europe the Americas and Asia. Research at each major centre has a distinct therapeutic focus.
The bridge between industry and academia is strengthened by the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) in Vienna (Austria).
