Developing new treatments and forging new partnerships to find solutions for disease.

Research and development has been the foundation of our company’s success and continues to be the major driver of innovative new medicines for the treatment of diseases with an unmet therapeutic need.  Furthermore, in our constant quest for pharmaceutical innovation we have many successful ongoing  partnerships and are actively seeking new collaborations with external partners, ranging from academic institutions to biopharmaceutical enterprises and start-up companies.

Highlighting Products Currently in Development

Treating and preventing thrombo-embolic diseases (complications of blood clotting)

Our research and development teams around the world have been working on a new medication to help treat and prevent venous thrombo-embolism (VTE).

Managing diabetes mellitus type II

Patients with diabetes type II have to constantly manage their blood sugar levels and deal with many other complications of their disease. Our research and development teams have been developing medications to inhibit glucose reabsorption into the body and continue to find new solutions.

Our current focus in oncology: lung cancer

We are currently researching treatments for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) using three therapeutic principles. The first principle uses signal transduction inhibitors to halt epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFRs); the second principle uses the concept of inhibition of tumour blood vessel formation (angiogenesis),  and the third therapeutic principle targets the inhibition of cell division (mitosis).
